Clarence Walker, professor of history at the University of California, Davis, received recognition for his book, "Deromanticizing Black History: Critical Essays and Reappraisals," from the Gustavus Myers Center for the Study of Human Rights in the United States. It was chosen outstanding book on the subject of human rights. The announcement was made late last year on Human Rights Day.
