Frederick Bliss, professor in pomology, has been elected president of the American Society for Horticultural Science. An active member of the society since 1966, Bliss has also served as the vice president of the research division and chair of the publications and strategic planning committees. He has also held the position of chair of the plant biology graduate group and chair of pomology department at UC Davis.
