Norman Akesson, UC Davis professor emeritus of biological and agricultural engineering, has received honorary membership status in the California Weed Science Society at its annual meeting recently. Recognized as a pioneer in the research and development of chemical weed and control equipment, Akesson presented a paper on spraying systems at the first California Weed Conference in 1949.
