The American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers recently recognized Pablo Ortiz, assistant professor of music at UC Davis, with an award for his work. Ortiz's last piece was an opera, "Parodia," a parody of a piece by Monteverdi. He is currently writing a piece for the harp to be performed by the UC Davis Symphony Orchestra.
