The National Safety Council elected William Steinke of UC Davis to its 1997-98 board of directors as an agricultural representative. As an extension agricultural engineer in the biological and agricultural engineering department, Steinke serves as a liaison between campus researchers and agricultural producers and employees, citizens and government officials. The National Safety Council is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to protecting life and promoting health.
