Chemical engineering and materials science professor Amiya Mukherjee received the Institut medal from the Max Planck Institut für Metallforschung in Stuttgart, Germany, recently. The medal was given in recognition of his contribution to the physics of deformation of crystalline solids, including creep and superplasticity.
