Margaret Rucker, UC Davis professor and chair of the Division of Textiles and Clothing, has been presented the 1997 Educator of the Year award by the publication Bobbin in conjunction with the International Textile and Apparel Association. The annual award recognizes contributions educators make to the sewn products industry through teaching/curriculum, research or service. Rucker has been tackling issues at the interface between consumer behavior and apparel development and manufacturing. The association is a worldwide association of college and university educators who teach curricula for the apparel, textile, sewn products and retail industries.
