Four retired UC Davis researchers and one university alumnus, now with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, were honored recently by the Japanese Horticultural Society for the society's 75th anniversary. Kay Uriu and Kay Ryugo from pomology, Mas Yamaguchi and Shang Fa Yang from vegetable crops, and Al Watada from the USDA have been recognized for their research accomplishments and service in training and hosting visiting Japanese researchers.
