Environmental health impacts on the nervous system will be addressed at a daylong public symposium Monday, Feb. 13, to be held at the Walter A. Buehler Alumni and Visitors Center on the UC Davis campus, starting at 8 a.m. Speakers will discuss various aspects of neurotoxicology, including aging, development and occupational exposures. Several UC Davis faculty members will be among the presenters, including Barry Wilson, chair of the avian sciences department; William Jagust, a neurology professor; Michael Gazzaniga, director of the Center for Neuroscience; and Mari Golub, associate adjunct professor at the California Regional Primate Research Center. The talks are designed to provide scientific updates in the area of neurotoxicology. Scientists with the Environmental Protection Agency will discuss the federal government's response to such environmental impacts.
