* May 2, Friday, noon-1 p.m. -- UC Davis alumnus Abdullah Akyuz will address Turkey's relationship to the conflict in an address titled "U.S.-Turkey Relations in Light of the Iraq Crisis." He is president of the Turkish Businessmen's and Industrialists' Association (TUSIAD-US Inc.) Washington representative office. Akyuz served on the Turkish equivalent of the Securities and Exchange Commission and as its executive vice chairman. He has also directed the Bonds and Bills Market of the Istanbul Stock Exchange. Akyuz earned a master's degree in economics from UC Davis and has another business degree from Wharton School's Advanced Management Program. Sponsored by the UC Davis Institute of Governmental Affairs, the event will be held in the IGA Reading Room, 360 Shields Library, UC Davis.
