In an attempt to dispel immigration myths and fallacies, UC Davis' Cross-Cultural Center is presenting a daylong forum on immigration policy Friday, March 11. The forum is intended to "stimulate new, healthy and productive debate on the immigration issue," says Francisco Rodriguez, center director. Immigrants' economic impact, health care and binational relations are among the topics to be discussed. Among the speakers scheduled for the day are Antonia Hernandez, president and general counsel with Mexican-American Legal Defense and Education Fund in Los Angeles; Eduardo Martinez Curiel, consulate of Mexico; Professor Kevin Johnson of the UC Davis law school; and Ronald L. Alvarado, California undersecretary of health and welfare. The forum begins at 8:30 a.m. in the Memorial Union II.
