Two University of California, Davis, professors will be among those testifying Tuesday, Oct. 12, in San Francisco on the impact of immigration on employment and the labor market. The 9 a.m. public hearing is being held by the Assembly Select Committee on Statewide Immigration Impact.
Norman Matloff, professor of computer science, will testify on the impact of immigration on the computer industry. Michael P. Smith, professor of community studies and development, will discuss labor code enforcement in relation to immigration and the labor market.
The hearing will be held at the State Building auditorium, 455 Golden Gate Ave., San Francisco and is scheduled to conclude at 3:30 p.m.
