Tom Sallee, UC Davis professor of mathematics, will receive the 1996 Award for Distinguished College or University Teaching, presented by the Northern California Section of the Mathematical Association of America. Recipients of the award are recognized for their extraordinary success in teaching, influence in mathematics education beyond their own institution and their ability to foster curiosity and generate excitement about mathematics.
