* April 16, Wednesday -- Kaiser Permanente Chief Executive Officer George C. Halvorson and Alain Enthoven of Stanford University will discuss market conditions for efficient health-care systems during a UC Davis event in Sacramento. Halvorson has been chairman and chief executive officer of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and Hospitals for almost a year and is author of two books on health care including "Strong Medicine." Enthoven is a senior fellow in the Center for Health Policy and a professor emeritus in the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University.
