Kaiser Foundation Hospitals' annual awards for excellence in teaching went to three professors at UC Davis: Paul Fitzgerald, associate professor of cell biology and human anatomy, for teaching sciences basic to medicine; William Bonekat, associate professor of pulmonary medicine, for teaching clinical sciences; and Gabriel Smilkstein, director of family practice and a volunteer faculty member, for teaching in the clinical sciences.
