-- Kathleen Martin, a postdoctoral research specialist and lecturer for the Division of Education at UC Davis, was selected to participate in a recent national conference to help develop a comprehensive research agenda for American Indian and Alaska native education. Goals at the conference included improving reading and mathematics achievement; increasing high school completion and postsecondary attendance rates; reducing the influence of such impediments to educational performance as poverty and substance abuse; creating strong, safe and drug-free school environments; improving science education; and expanding technology use.
