Kathleen Martin

-- Kathleen Martin, a postdoctoral research specialist and lecturer for the UC Davis Division of Education, was recently awarded a National Endowment for the Humanities summer stipend. Her research centered on the use of American Indian symbols and images in Catholic churches on U.S. reservations. Martin took and cataloged hundreds of photographs of churches in Alaska, Arizona, California, New Mexico and South Dakota. She also interviewed Native Americans and studied ways organizations influence social and cultural aspects of a community. Martin is a member of UC Davis' Staff Assembly Diversity Awareness Committee.
