KDVS to Air Regents Meeting on Affirmative Action

The student radio station at the University of California, Davis, will be airing the live discussion of university affirmative-action policies by the UC Board of Regents on Thursday, July 20, beginning at 8 a.m. Listeners may hear the proceedings by tuning into 90.3 KDVS-FM, which broadcasts to the Sacramento-area region. The regents are scheduled to start the discussion at 8 a.m., with a public comment period expected to last a minimum of two hours. The board then will talk about various proposals on affirmative action in a discussion that could extend into the afternoon. The regents meeting at the UC San Francisco Laurel Heights facility is expected to be heavily attended, due to the recent high level of interest in UC affirmative-action policies, and seating is limited. The UC Office of the President has had to make special arrangements to accommodate more than 250 news media staff expected to cover the event.
