Landscape Architect to Serve on Forestry Advisory Council

Mark Francis, UC Davis professor and chair of the landscape architecture program, has been appointed by U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Dan Glickman to serve a three-year term as a member of the National Urban and Community Forestry Advisory Council. Established by Congress in 1991, the council establishes policy and advises on funding for urban forestry and community greening projects and research. Francis also was recently appointed to the Western Regional Advisory Board of the Trust for Public Land.
