Jorja Hoehn, former head coach of the women's basketball team at the University of California, Davis, has been appointed director of alumni relations for the university's School of Law.
"It will be great to have her enthusiasm, energy and winning attitude in the alumni office," Dean Rex Perschbacher said in making the announcement.
Hoehn assumed her duties Oct. 12. Reporting to the school's director of external relations, she has primary responsibility for managing the school's relations with its 4,600 alumni.
"I was so fortunate to coach at UC Davis, one of the best Division II sports programs for women in the country," Hoehn said. "I feel very privileged to be able to continue to serve UC Davis at the School of Law, which is so well regarded nationally and internationally."
Perschbacher said Hoehn has a wealth of skills and experience in management, fund raising and public relations that will serve the school and its alumni association well.
At UC Davis from 1988 to 1998, Hoehn was an instructor in the Department of Exercise Science and won 80 percent of her games as head coach of the intercollegiate women's basketball team.
The Women's Basketball Coaches Association has honored her three times as national coach of the year for Division II and four times as regional coach of the year for Division II.
Hoehn earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and forensic studies from Indiana University at Bloomington in 1974 and a Master of Science in physical education from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg in 1979. She held coaching positions at both universities.
