-- Marianne Page, UC Davis assistant professor of economics, will be one of two visiting scholars next academic year at the Northwestern University/University of Chicago Joint Center for Poverty Research. The competitive award, which includes full salary, benefits and up to $10,000 in research funding, allows scholars to take a year's leave from their academic duties to concentrate on research and scholarship. In an exploration of the effects of neighborhood on socioeconomic outcomes, Page will examine the extent to which mobility affects estimates of neighborhood cohesiveness. She begins at the center in January.
