Richard Grosberg, associate professor of evolution and ecology at the University of California, Davis, has recently been awarded the International Recognition of Professional Excellence Prize from the International Ecology Institute in Oldendorf/Luhe, Germany. Grosberg is an acknowledged leader in adapting molecular techniques for the study of marine larvae and in producing information on detailed mapping of the genetic structure of adult populations of marine organisms.
