MBA students begin job search early

Graduate students in the UC Davis management school will be starting the academic year with direct access to some of California's most successful businesses, according to Don Blodger, student services director at the UC Davis Graduate School of Management. Company representatives will be coming to the Davis campus on Thursday, Oct. 10, to answer student questions about employment opportunities and to get acquainted with potential future employees. "This will be the largest and most diversified employment fair UC Davis has ever had for its business students -- making it an excellent resource for them, especially with California's economic engine accelerating," says Blodger. "Students receiving their Master of Business Administration degree are more confident then ever about finding jobs in the high-tech field." Representatives from Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Intel, 3 Com and Pacific Bell are some of the high-tech corporations that will be present to talk about employment opportunities and growth in the Sacramento region. Other organizations include representatives from financial institutions, utilities and telecommunications. Companies are coming to UC Davis earlier than ever before to recruit students because of the corporate competition for outstanding new graduates, says Blodger.
