March 28, Saturday -- A state-level competition designed to foster creativity, problem-solving skills and teamwork will bring more than 1,300 kindergarten- through college-age students to UC Davis. About 220 winning teams from 18 regional competitions of Odyssey of the Mind will be judged on projects they have been working on since the beginning of the school year and on their solutions to problems presented to them the day of the competition. Winners will advance to the world finals in Florida this May. The event, to begin at 8 a.m., will take place in the Recreation Hall and other campus buildings. Closing ceremonies will be held in the Recreation Hall at 7 p.m.
