May 11, Monday -- Daryl Smith, a Claremont Graduate University education and psychology professor and an expert on diversity in higher education, will speak at 3:30 p.m. in the University Club lounge at UC Davis. Her speech, "The Imperative of Diversity: Institutional Vitality, Student Success and Civic Democracy," is the third and final talk this academic year in the Provost's Conversations on Community, Diversity and Higher Education. Smith's research has focused on diversity in higher education, planning, governance, student affairs and women's and minority colleges.
