UC Davis microbiology professor Merna Villarejo has received the University of California Presidential Award for Excellence in Mentoring Undergraduate Research. An intercollegiate panel of judges was unanimous in its admiration of Villarejo's early and ongoing commitment to individual student projects and the broader programmatic organization of undergraduate research on campus.
