Political satirist and columnist Molly Ivins will bring her firebrand humor to UC Davis for a lecture Thursday, Feb. 23, titled "Politics and Other Bizarre Happenings." Ivins will be available to the media at a press conference at 7:30 p.m. on the evening of the lecture in the Garrison Room of the UC Davis Memorial Union building next to Freeborn Hall. Her talk begins at 8 p.m. in Freeborn Hall. A columnist for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, where she writes about Texas politics and other happenings, Ivins also is the author of the collection of essays on politics and journalism "Molly Ivins Can't Say That Can She?" and "Nothing But Good Times Ahead." In addition, she writes about press issues for the American Civil Liberties Union and several journalism reviews. Her visit is part of the UC Davis Presents Distinguished Speakers Series.
