Andrew D. Frank, professor of music at UC Davis, heard the world premiere of his percussion quartet "Elective Affinities I" recently at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University, Houston. Frank coached rehearsals and attended the performance conducted by Richard Brown of Rice University. The music is performed with four percussionists playing more than 50 different instruments.
