An international public-policy conference to explore "Human Rights and the North American Free Trade Agreement" will be held Friday, Sept. 24, in Sacramento. Sponsored by University Extension and the UC Davis School of Law, the conference will include more than 20 representatives from the three NAFTA countries who are experts in labor, indigenous people, police abuse, immigration and international human rights law. They will present diverse views on the critical social issues of economic integration that have remained at the margin of the NAFTA debate. The conference takes place 8 a.m.-5 p.m. in Hearing Room 4203 of the State Capitol.
