New Co-Chairs Named for UC Davis Chancellor's Club

Meg and Tom Stallard, known for their public service and community activities in Yolo County, are the new co-chairs of the Davis Chancellor's Club, the premier donor support group for the University of California, Davis. For more than 15 years, the Davis Chancellor's Club has been a significant source of unrestricted contributions to the campus. Funds generated by the group have supported student scholarships, outreach activities, educational forums and a variety of other special programs. Its membership, totaling over 360 individuals throughout the country, includes alumni, parents, and business and community leaders. As co-chairs of the Chancellor's Club, the Stallards will provide leadership for the group's steering council and spearhead efforts to recruit new members. They will also be instrumental in developing programs and events designed to increase members' knowledge of the vast research and teaching resources at UC Davis. "As alumni and longtime supporters of UC Davis, Meg and Tom Stallard bring the enthusiasm and dedication necessary to effectively lead this very important group," said Larry N. Vanderhoef, UC Davis chancellor. "They will guide the Chancellor's Club forward to help us provide a quality education for the next generation of UC Davis students." Both Stallards completed their undergraduate studies at UC Davis and are lifetime members of the Cal Aggie Alumni Association. Meg received her bachelor's degree in international relations in 1968 and her teaching credential from UC Irvine in 1972. Tom received a bachelor's degree in economics in 1968 and his J.D. from the UC Davis School of Law in 1975. Meg has long been active in the Woodland community, where the Stallards live, currently serving as president of the Woodland School Board. Tom serves on the Yolo County Board of Supervisors representing Woodland and West Sacramento. He is co-owner of a research firm specializing in the collection and analysis of legislative histories as a service to the legal community. In accepting the appointment, the Stallards said, "UC Davis is a special place for us. It is an honor to join with others to assist the campus as it asserts its leadership role in teaching, research and service in the 21st century."
