Panetta to Address Law School Grads

The UC Davis law school's 25th commencement address will be given by Leon Panetta, director of the federal Office of Management and Budget, during a graduation ceremony that begins at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 21. A news media availability with Panetta will be held at 12:30 p.m. that day in the Recreation Hall, the location of the ceremony. More than 140 UC Davis law student graduates will be honored during the two-hour ceremony. Panetta, who was confirmed in January 1993, has chief responsibility for overseeing the federal budget. Before joining the Clinton administration, Panetta served eight terms as a U.S. representative from California. Bruce Wolk, law school dean, will make opening remarks and present the Law School Medal to the top student of the graduating class.
