-- UC Davis English professor Peter Hays is going to Nice, France, next summer as a new member of the 10-year-old F. Scott Fitzgerald Society, a member organization of the American Literature Association. Founded by three avid Fitzgerald scholars, the organization's decision to expand the board beyond the founders is aimed at increasing Fitzgerald's reputation. New plans include beginning a journal for focused research on Fitzgerald. Hays, who has also served on the Hemingway Society Board, is a scholar of 20th-century American literature.
