Professor's Home Design Garners Architectural Award

Richard Berteaux, an associate professor of environmental design at UC Davis, has received a 1996 California Council Society of American Registered Architects Honor Award for his design of the Yoder residence in Winters. Praised for its sensitive integration into the Winters hillside, the home is designed to optimize solar orientation, prevalent wind patterns, earth-sheltering and spectacular views of the valley floor and Solano Lake to the east.
