Consumer activist Ralph Nader will speak on "Consumerism, Energy and Activism in the '90s" at UC Davis on Monday, April 19.
Honored by Time magazine as one of the 100 most influential Americans of the 20th century, he was instrumental in the establishment of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the Environmental Protection Agency and the Consumer Product Safety Commission, as well as the California Public Interest Research Group.
Nader is the author of numerous books on topics ranging from auto safety to corporate lawyers and from insurance to patient care.
His presentation, sponsored by Student Forums at UC Davis, will begin at 7 p.m. in Room 194 of the Chemistry Building; doors will open to students at 6:25 p.m. and to the general public at 6:45 p.m. Admission is free.
