Re: Native American Cultural Days Powwow

Thousands of Native Americans from throughout the western United States will celebrate their culture through song and dance during the 27th annual Native American Cultural Days powwow Saturday and Sunday, April 5-6, at UC Davis. Sponsored by Native American students, the program includes arts and crafts, dancing and traditional American Indian food. The weekend powwow is a re-enactment of certain spiritual and emotional aspects of Indian humanity, according to Andrea Zubiate, coordinator of the event. It will be preceded by a weeklong Native American Cultural Days program March 31-April 4. The weeklong activities will include guest lecturers who will speak on subjects ranging from improvement of the educational and cultural opportunities for young Native Americans to the health issues affecting tribal Indians.
