Research Ecologist Wins First Hugo B. Fischer Award

Alan Jassby, research ecologist in the UC Davis environmental studies division, was one of two winners of the first Hugo B. Fischer award, given by the Bay-Delta Modeling Forum. Jassby is credited with a statistical analysis of fisheries and salinity data in the San Francisco Bay-Delta Estuary, which provided a foundation for the new delta water-quality standards recently agreed to by agricultural, urban and environmental groups.
