Carl Keen, UC Davis professor of nutrition and internal medicine, is the winner of the Borden Award in Nutrition this year. The award recognizes his contributions to knowledge of the nutritional significance of any food or food component. More specifically, Keen was selected for the contributions his research group has made in developmental nutrition, particularly with respect to the influence of maternal zinc status on embryo and fetal development.
