Researcher's Work in Lake Management Systems Gets Kudos

John Reuter, academic administrator in the environmental studies division at UC Davis, received the annual award for Outstanding Scientific Research from the North American Lake Management Society. The award is given to an individual who has contributed significantly to the technical applied or theoretical understanding of lake dynamics and protection and restoration techniques. Reuter is director at the Lake Tahoe Interagency Monitoring Program and a member of the UC Davis Tahoe Research Group. He was recognized for his long-standing work at Lake Tahoe to integrate scientific findings with lake and watershed management, his work over the past five years in establishing federally recognized water-quality standards at Pyramid Lake and portions of the lower Truckee River, and his work on dozens of smaller projects dealing with water-quality and water resources issues throughout California.
