For her sustained professional contribution to the California Academic and Research Librarians and academic librarianship in the state, retired UC Davis associate university librarian Kate Mawdsley was recently named the 1993 Member of the Year. Mawdsley is a past vice president and president of the organization and also spent a decade advocating for the availability of government information.
