-- The Perspectives of New Music journal recently honored Richard Swift, UC Davis music professor emeritus, with a collection of essays and music honoring his work as a composer and musical thinker. Swift was chair of the music department at Davis from 1963-71 and winner of the Academic Senate's Distinguished Teaching Award (1980) and Faculty Research Lecturer Award (1982-83.)
