-- The late UC Davis history professor Roland Marchand has received a posthumous award for his book "Creating the Corporate Soul." The Business History Conference judged it the best book in business history published in 1997 and 1998. This award is given to a book that stretches the limits of business history by incorporating research in social and cultural history. The award includes a prize of $2,500, which the Marchand family has donated to the Roland Marchand Memorial Fund for scholarships at UC Davis.
