Scholars Gather to Recover the Wild

"Reinventing Nature/Recovering the Wild" is the theme of an Oct. 22-24 UC Davis conference intended to help define national and international public-policy goals in the study of wild areas as well as to encourage long-term land management policy. The issue of recovering the wild will be examined from feminist, Native American and cultural perspectives. To be held at the Silo Union, the conference is sponsored by the UC Davis Program in Nature and Culture, the UC Humanities Research Institute and the UC Davis Humanities Research Institute, among other sponsors.
