* Sept. 27, Wednesday -- A pioneering scholar in second-language acquisition, Stephen Krashen of the University of Southern California, will talk about creating rich linguistic environments at levels that beginners can understand. The talk begins at 3:30 p.m. in the Alpha Gamma Rho Hall of the Buehler Alumni and Visitors Center. Krashen is the author of more than 250 articles and books in the fields of bilingual education, neurolinguistics, second language acquisition and literacy. His publications have received numerous awards. The program is sponsored by the UC Davis Second Language Acquisition Institute and the Education Policy Center of Language Minority Research Institute in the UC Davis Division of Education.
