The new chair of the Comparative/Historical Section of the American Sociology Association is UC Davis sociology professor Jack Goldstone. He also has been made an associate of the Canadian Institute of Advanced Research, which provided him with a fellowship to pursue his research on stability and instability in complex political systems.
