Armchair scientists who'd like to experience the real thing are invited to join UC researchers on field studies this summer. Nearly two dozen expeditions around the world are offered by University Research Expedition Program, including several led by UC Davis researchers. Survey isolated species in Brazil's high-altitude grasslands with Hugh Safford, a doctoral candidate in environmental studies. Collect data and arrange a local workshop on wetlands ecology in Northern Belize with Eliska Rejmankova, assistant professor of environmental studies. Based in Berkeley, the UC program has launched more than 1,000 expeditions and is celebrating its 20th year.
