Sports economist to speak on financing baseball stadiums

Roger G. Noll, a leading sports economist in the United States, is coming to Sacramento on Thursday, Oct. 31, to speak on baseball stadiums, financing of professional ballparks, economics and politics. The Morris M. Doyle Professor of Public Policy of Economics at Stanford University, Noll has been a consultant for the Major League Baseball Players Association and has written extensively in the field of sports financing. He is currently writing a new book on the economics of sports stadiums. On Thursday, he will speak at a breakfast meeting of Sacramento business leaders sponsored by the UC Davis Graduate School of Management. News reporters will have an opportunity to interview Noll following his address at 9 a.m. at the Vizcaya Pavilion, 2019 21st St.
