The Cal Aggie Alumni Association will once again kick off the Picnic Day festivities at the University of California, Davis, with a pancake breakfast for members of the campus and community. Breakfast will be served in Freeborn Hall at 7:30-9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 16. "This is the 11th year that the alumni association has sponsored the Picnic Day breakfast," said Scott Carney, alumni chair of this year's event. Carney, a counselor with FamiliesFirst Inc. in Davis, is a 1992 graduate of UC Davis. "It's become a tradition for many of our alumni who come to meet with old friends and for other campus friends who just want to get an early start on the fun." A breakfast of pancakes, sausage and beverages will be served, and the Cal Aggie Alumni Marching Band will perform. Also at this year's breakfast, which is co-sponsored by the UC Davis School of Medicine Alumni Association, medical students will provide free blood pressure readings. Tickets cost $5 for CAAA members, $6 for nonmembers, $4 for children 5 to 10, and are free for children under age 5. To make reservations, call the alumni association at (916) 752-0286.
