What: California's top law enforcement officer, Attorney General Dan Lungren, who has been a strong proponent of tough, new laws against gangs, drugs and violent crime, will visit with students, faculty, campus administrators and community leaders to discuss violence prevention.
In particular, he will address how the academic community can partner with local and state government leaders in lowering the crime rate in California. The attorney general was invited to the campus by the Institute of Governmental Affairs.
Lungren, who supported California's Three Strikes and You're Out law, will also meet with Chancellor Larry Vanderhoef and other key administrators.

Where: Classroom instruction will be in 1150 Hart Hall, UC Davis.
Speech to administrators, student leaders and faculty will be in the AGR Room, Buehler Alumni and Visitors Center, UC Davis.
Visuals: Nearly 100 undergraduates will be taught by Lungren. He will lead a classroom discussion on the importance of public opinion in reducing crime and violence in California and the need for shaping public opinion based on truth.
Parking From Interstate 80 take the Woodland (Highway 113) exit. Exit
and Directions: freeway at Russell Boulevard and proceed east. Turn right at Howard Way and stop at the Kiosk for entry onto campus. Ask attendant for directions to Hart Hall.
