Forty-six were accepted. Those chosen to receive $100 merit awards and purchase awards will be announced at a reception for the artists from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 16. The competition was open to painting, collage, ceramic sculpture, printmaking, drawing, sculpture, textiles, photography, furniture, crafts and eight-millimeter films. Jurors for the show were Missy Kinder, art exhibition coordinator for the California State Fair; Malaquias Montoya, artist and UC Davis professor of Chicano Studies; and Amy Podmore, a visiting lecturer in the UC Davis art department.
