Lectures, music and performances are among the free events open to the public April 21-25 during the annual Asian Pacific Culture Week at the University of California, Davis.
This year's theme is "Emerging from Silence, Creating a Voice."
Highlights surrounding the student-organized event include:
• Islam in Asia exhibit and discussion.
7 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, East Conference Room in the Memorial Union
• "Showtime at the Main," with various live performances.
7 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, Main Theatre
• Asian American Psychology, with guest Dr. Stanley Sue, head of the UC Davis Asian American studies program and director of a National Research Center program on Asian American mental health.
Noon Thursday, April 24, in the East Conference Room of the Memorial Union
• Culture Night, dance and musical performances will be featured during an evening cultural presentation by student groups.
7 p.m. Friday, April 25, Freeborn Hall
